An introduction to SDGs at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best girls boarding schools of Dehradun!

In the first week of April, an inter-class competition was held to empower our girls with knowledge about the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Adopted in 2015 by all United Nations members, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals were created to “promote peace and prosperity for people and the planet while tackling climate change and preserving the environment.”

Introducing the SDGs to children at an early age instills a sense of global responsibility and helps them become aware of poverty, climate change, inequality, and environmental sustainability. This awareness is crucial in developing their critical thinking, empathy, problem-solving skills, and a sense of solidarity, helping children recognise their role in creating positive change in their society, communities, and the world at large.

At The Indian Cambridge School, we believe that helping children understand their emotions at an early age is fundamental to their mental well-being and emotional stability. Mindfulness @ The ICS’s Yoga Club

Recently, we shared the best boarding school of Dehradun for girls. The Indian Cambridge School has started a new initiative to drive student interactions and engagements through club activities such as the Reading Club and Eco Club. This time around, we are delighted to bring to you news about other club activities courtesy of our Yoga Club! 

Every morning assembly is kicked off at The ICS with a healthy dose of yoga sessions aimed at instilling healthy habits in our girls. Providing them with healthy physical well-being, mental clarity, and emotional balance is an important element of holistic development. Yoga has proven benefits such as improved concentration, reduced stress, and cultivating discipline, three attributes on which academic and personal success are heavily dependent. But did you know that yoga also develops self-awareness and resilience? It’s just one of the many ways The ICS empowers girls to face challenges with confidence and grace, enabling them to embark on their journey with vitality and serenity.
