With the temperature going up several notches and children taking a well-deserved respite at home, we are back with our monthly series of activity catch-ups.

Sensory Learning at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best girls boarding schools of Dehradun!

Initially, The Indian Cambridge School in Dalanwala was one of the few boarding schools in Dehradun to incorporate hands-on learning into the school curriculum. Keeping up with this practice, the Junior Wing of The ICS set off on an interactive sensory adventure, enriching their learning experience by using their senses to explore everything from textures to scents.

At the touch station, they navigated through smooth, rough, bumpy, and soft materials, honing their tactile senses and descriptive prowess. While the smell station teased their noses with fragrant herbs, spices, and flowers, expanding their understanding of the world that surrounds them, The feel station allowed them to feel a spectrum of sensations, from warmth to coldness, hardness to softness.

These sensory immersion activities nurture cognitive growth, linguistic finesse, and sensory harmony, showcasing the school’s dedication to tailor educational experiences for each child’s unique journey.

Keyboard Activity at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best girls boarding schools of Dehradun

Our recent keyboard activity at The Indian Cambridge School on April 29, 2024, aimed at honing each student’s computer skills, started with an exciting video introducing our young students to the secrets of the QWERTY keyboard.

With fingers flying, students explored letters, words, and numbers using different keys. From caps lock to enter, spacebar to arrow keys, they began typing with finesse while teachers tackled their questions. Yet another interactive session at The ICS aimed at honing a skill that will be useful in their later lives. 

Labour Day Celebrations at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best boarding schools of Dehradun

The Indian Cambridge School hosted a heartwarming celebration to honour the invaluable contribution of its helpers. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the illumination of gratitude towards these unsung heroes.

 The melody of prayer filled the air as every single Cambrite sought diving blessings for the dedicated helpers who continue to support the school community tirelessly. Children took centre stage, showering compliments and words of appreciation upon the helpers.

The day witnessed an enchanting dance performance by a group of talented girls dedicated to bringing joy to the helpers within the school community. The highlight was a poignant skit, skillfully performed by the students, illustrating the significance of treating helpers with dignity and respect.

This was followed by a poetic rendition titled ‘Mera Baba Desh Chalata Hai’ capturing the essence of the celebration and emphasising the intrinsic value of every individual, regardless of their role or profession. At The Indian Cambridge School, we believe that every person matters and deserves acknowledgment and respect.

As a gesture of gratitude, gifts were generously distributed to all helpers by the school management, symbolising the school’s appreciation for their invaluable contributions. The celebrations began with a moving address by the Academic Director, Neelam Ma’aam, urging everyone to uphold the ethos of respect and kindness towards every individual, irrespective of their vocation.

With the curtains coming down on the celebrations, the echoes of this heartfelt event still linger on in the corridors of the school hall.
