Summer Camp: Day 3 at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best girls boarding schools of Dehradun!
On May 22, 2024, the third day of the summer camp at The Indian Cambridge School, with a power-packed Zumba class that the children thoroughly enjoyed, we then moved on to the next activity designed to stimulate the right hemisphere of the brain called “Boom Boom Chick Chick.”
The children were very excited and paid attention to the rules of the game, after which we moved on to our meditation sessions, which left the children in a calm and composed state. After this came a thought-provoking session on Father’s Day about how they were going to celebrate and ways to make their fathers feel special. We also showed a video to the kids depicting the history of greeting cards.
We then headed to the final activity of the day, in which children did a leaf printing exercise where they made a forest scene with the help of the leaf imprints using watercolours.
Summer Camp: Day 4 at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best girls boarding schools of Dehradun!
On the fourth and final day of the summer camp, we planned to introduce new experiences to the children, starting once again with a Zumba dance that energised everyone. This was followed by a cognitive task designed to enhance the brain’s right hemisphere through a brain development activity called ‘Scoop with Both Hands,’ where children demonstrated remarkable attention and concentration.
The day progressed to calming and relaxing meditation and a yoga session, during which children were informed about the benefits and origins of yoga. They participated in 25 minutes of yoga and pranayam, which improved their flexibility and regulated their breathing.
The day concluded with a creative bug-making activity, where children crafted ladybugs using walnut and pistachio shells, along with colourful leaves. The kids thoroughly enjoyed this creative session, leaving them happy.
World Environment Day Celebrations at The Indian Cambridge School, one of the best boarding schools of Dehradun
On June 5, 2024, during the summer camp, we celebrated World Environment Day, where we engaged the children in discussions about sustainable development and environmental stewardship by showcasing practical steps they could take to protect and preserve our resources, ensuring a healthier planet for future generations.
Through a series of engaging video lessons, our students learned the importance of caring for our planet in various ways, such as planting trees, reducing waste, and conserving water. These lessons provided them with a crucial understanding of how their actions can positively impact the environment.
Additionally, the videos delved into crucial topics like global warming, climate change, the impact of greenhouse gases, and their detrimental effects on our ecosystem. By educating our students on these vital issues, we are not only raising awareness but also empowering them to become future leaders in sustainable development. The goal of the Indian Cambridge School is to inspire them to take proactive measures and make environmentally conscious decisions, ensuring a healthier and more sustainable planet for generations to come.
