The ICS Investiture Ceremony 24-25!
On July 24, 2024, The Indian Cambridge School, the best girls’ boarding school in Dehradun organized its prestigious Investiture Ceremony and Academic Achiever’s Felicitation in a vibrant event graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Col. Sanjay Washington. Col. Washington is a distinguished veteran with a commendable career in the armed forces and is known for his dedication to nation-building and leadership.
The event began with the installation of the new school leaders, conducted by Col. Sanjay Washington and the Academic Director Ms Neelam Sharma. The newly elected council members took their oaths, promising to uphold the values and responsibilities entrusted to them. The ceremony was marked by a sense of pride and commitment, as the school community looked forward to the contributions of their new leaders.
In his motivating address, Col. Sanjay Washington drew on the inspirational words of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, urging the council members to dream big and work tirelessly towards their goals. “Your dreams should not let you sleep. To shine like the Sun, you need to burn like the Sun,” he quoted, encouraging the students to strive for excellence and perseverance.
The ceremony also featured a captivating performance by the school choir, who sang the song “I Have a Dream.” Col. S. Washington appreciated the choir’s melodious rendition and the choice of the song as it was very close to his heart as well.
Addressing the parents present at the event, Col. Sanjay Washington emphasized the importance of guiding their daughters in the correct usage of technology, particularly mobile phones. He highlighted the significant role of daughters in a family, especially elder daughters, in ensuring that family members stay on the right path.
To mark his visit and in appreciation of his insightful words, Col. S. Washington was presented with a memento by the Academic Director of the school. The token of gratitude symbolized the school’s acknowledgment of his valuable contribution to the event. But none of this would be possible without our students. Their dreams and aspirations play a key part in inspiring us daily. Let’s celebrate their achievements and encourage them to continue exploring, learning, and growing!
