The ICS’s Roll a Story Activity

In the month of July, The Indian Cambridge School, girls boarding school in Dehradun, conducted ‘Roll a Story’ activity for our pre-primary and primary classes. This activity is a fun way to practice sentence building by using a dice that is rolled by students who then go on to connect with the pictures shown to them.

The Roll a Story activity is designed to test the cognitive skills, imagination, public speaking skills and quick thinking because each side of dice corresponds to unique combinations of character, setting and problem. The twist? The girls have to craft a compelling story on the spot, incorporating the designated elements.

As students took turns rolling the die, their creativity shone bright. With each tale, they transported their peers to new worlds, solving problems and overcoming challenges. The room buzzed with excitement, ideas flowing freely. “Roll a Story” was a resounding success, showcasing the boundless potential of students. By embracing creativity and taking risks, students grew as storytellers, thinkers, and communicators.

The ICS’s Fraction Activity

At The Indian Cambridge School, we turned fractions into a fun and exciting adventure! Our interactive fraction activity captivates students, enhancing their mathematical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Using colorful paper cutouts, students eagerly learned about numerators, denominators, proper and improper fractions, and equivalent fractions. This hands-on approach not only deepens their understanding of fractions but also prepares them for real-world applications in science, finance, and industry. Students learned about numerator, denominator, half, one-third, one-fourth, proper fractions, improper fractions, and equivalent fractions. 

Youth Day 2024!
