The Return of Fireless Cooking at The ICS

The students of The Indian Cambridge School’s Pre-Primary and Primary classes donned their chef’s caps to showcase their culinary skills in our “Cooking Without Fire” activity. It was a delight to watch the little hands decorating and garnishing their sandwiches. Our young learners participated with enthusiasm and explored hidden talents.

Cooking with kids is more than just mixing ingredients and following recipes; it’s about empowering them to use their imagination and creativity. This activity proved that even at a young age, they can make something wonderful and healthy with their own hands if given a chance.

They prepared healthy and delicious items like cucumber and tomato salad and bhelpuri with veggies. This activity highlighted the nutritional value of flame-free cooking but also presented dishes in an artistic and aesthetic style, making it a treat for both the eyes and taste buds!

Clean India Competition at The ICS!

The importance of cleanliness cannot be overstated. It plays a crucial role in promoting health and well-being. In alignment with this principle, The Indian Cambridge School, a girls boarding school in Dehradun, hosted the All India Swachh Bharat Pratiyogita, a drawing competition on July 20 aimed at inspiring students to advocate for a cleaner nation.

Students from LKG to Class 12 showcased their artistic talents with innovative ideas and themes related to Swachh Bharat. The competition encouraged creativity, imagination, and a heightened awareness of cleanliness, with winners receiving prizes and certificates as a testament to their exceptional abilities. At The Indian Cambridge School, we are proud and delighted to do our part in this great initiative helping India become cleaner and healthier by harnessing the power of art.

Investiture Ceremony & Academic Achievers’ Felicitation at The ICS

On July 24, The Indian Cambridge School, an all-girls boarding school in Dehradun, held its annual investiture ceremony and academic achievers’ felicitation with the esteemed Col. Sanjay Washington, a distinguished veteran known for his exceptional service and dedication to nation-building.

The ceremony began with the appointment of new school leaders, who took their oaths committing to uphold the values and responsibilities entrusted to them. This was followed by a moving performance by the school choir, who sang, “I Have a Dream.” The performance was praised by Col. Washington as he addressed the school, noting that the song held a special place in his heart. He also quoted Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, urging students to dream big and work relentlessly towards their goals. He further highlighted the crucial role parents play in guiding their daughters, particularly regarding responsible technology use, and emphasised the importance of elder daughters in keeping family members on the right path.

To honour his insightful contributions, our Academic Director, Neelam Ma’am, presented Col. Washington with a commemorative memento, symbolising the school’s gratitude for his valuable role in the event.
