The Eco Warriors of The ICS, Girls Residential School in Dehradun in Action

At The Indian Cambridge School, we always encourage students to demonstrate responsible behaviour, whether in academics or environmental stewardship. The NGO ‘Making A Difference’ on June 9, 2024, organised a marathon where the warriors of The Indian Cambridge School exemplified this ethos, going beyond mere participation to become committed helpers dedicated to creating a positive impact.

The primary focus of this marathon was to raise awareness and support for the declining streams Rispana and Bindal in Dehradun. These rivers are crucial as they provide 80% of the city’s water supply, and they face a significant challenge. The NGO’s mission is to highlight the importance of these water bodies and mobilise efforts to rejuvenate and protect them.

Through their involvement, The ICS Warriors not only showcased their dedication to environmental conservation but also actively contributed to a cause that impacts the community’s water resources profoundly. Their participation exemplifies their commitment to sustainable practices and their role as responsible environmental stewards.

The ICS, Girls Residential School in Dehradun’s Tree Plantation Drive

On July 7, 2024, MAD NGO organised a tree-planting event in Khalang Forest, and The Indian Cambridge School’s students took an active part in this drive. The girls planted various native trees, learning about the respective tree’s importance in preserving our environment. 

The event was both a hands-on activity and a learning experience, teaching students about the role of trees in keeping nature balanced and the need to protect our natural resources. By the end of the day, the students promised to care for the new saplings, showing their commitment to protecting the environment. This event helped both the forest and our students develop a stronger sense of responsibility towards nature.
